                                                                   FAIRTRADE

We believe that learning about Fairtrade issues is a great way of enabling children to discover the issues outside of the classroom so that they can make a positive contribution to the wider world we live in. We are committed to learning about, raising awareness of and taking action for Fairtrade.

Any pupil is welcome to join our enthusiastic lunchtime club where we take part in many activities. Not only do we incorporate Fairtrade into our lessons, we have supported Macmillan with a Fairtrade coffee morning, taken part in a yearly carol concert in our Fairtrade Town, held a Big Breakfast, Banana Bonanza, Treasure Hunt, written Fairtrade prayers to display in church, taken part in school assemblies, bought Fairtrade products and  sports balls, watched the film resources and shared them with the school community, filled our display board with eye-catching arts and crafts and made many banners, posters and flyers to support our events.

"I really like creating posters, banners and flyers for the Fairtrade Fortnigt events. Spreading the word is important."

Lucy G

"I enjoy serving the Fairtrade cakes, jams and juices when we hold our big events. Pupils really look forward to these events."

Hannah B

"Our group has taken part in assemblies and Church Services and I have really enjoyed preparing for those."

During the Harvest Festival Service the Eco Club gave a very moving presentation about how we can all make our world a fairer place for all God's children. We heard how by buying fairly traded goods we can help make a huge difference to the lives of farmers and their families.

Harvest Festival

On Wednesday 21st October we held our Harvest Festival Service in the school Hall. Each class contributed to the service with prayers, songs and performances. The children had been asked to bring in items which could be donated to the Ribble Valley Food Bank. We were overwhelmed by their generosity !

The Eco Club gave a very moving presentation about how spending a few more pennies, on fairly traded goods, can make a huge difference to farmers and their families.
